with its light it can illuminate
what would otherwise remain in darkness.

It’s not a festival, it’s not a season, it’s 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮: for the first time Motus organises a public event in its own city, welcoming an eclectic community of performers who will occupy the Teatro Galli and the adjacent spaces of the historical centre from 12 to 16 April with proposals of hybrid and surprising languages. Shows, installations, workshops, talks and live music… it is evident how today’s porous boundaries between the arts require us to break out of the stereotypical boxes in which the creativity of so many artistic realities, both historical and emerging, are harnessed. The choice has therefore been made to transform the Teatro Galli into a space of permeability and inclusion for new communities of spectators who do not usually frequent it. A space open from the morning that will also see the alternation of free workshops and performances in the square, with the desire to catalyse attention towards the independent art scene, which, in our country, lives in uncertain times but continues to resist and sparkle, inviting us “annusare i fiori finché puoi” (to smell the flowers while you can). This is the title of the cycle of talks organised with some of the companies in the programme, in a complex period of public funding cuts and cancelled contemporary theatre festivals. Despite the difficulties in which our fragile sector is moving, 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮 is a small attempt at weaving new alliances that can ‘enlighten/create triggers’, especially in the new generations and in those who ‘do not go to the theatre’… We believe in it, we try!
