The Forest is Indispensable…

The forest is a vast non-anthropised zone where vegetation spreads spontaneously and invades. It supplies oxygen for the survival of aerobic beings and food for herbivores, as well as a refuge for much of the wild animal world. It is the place of the outsider, receptacle of “outlaws”, shamans and werewolves…
This is why we like it.
Because it is indispensable to the breathing of those who don’t tolerate surveillance.
Of those who love to lose themselves and disappear, or disappear to return changed.
Of those who love to observe flora and fauna by following uninterrupted pathways.
Of those who love to build refuges in which to stay and to think once more about what H. D. Thoreau called “the raw material of life”.


For three days the Angelo Mai social centre will become a refuge in the forest, a space to be transformed into a nomad encampment for living, sleeping and eating… for devising forms and formats of uncultivated art. It isn’t a workshop for transmitting knowledge but an atelier of shared living and doing. In this brief period of time we’ll be trying to redesign the geography of an “Elsewhere” place – as the Angelo defines itself – by inviting the public along each evening to step inside and  watch little performances in the various “refuges” which we’ll build up together.
If you want to be a part of MucchioMisto (MixedBunch), imagine your refuge in the spaces of the Angelo Mai, or bring a tent and sleeping bag where you can sleep and create.
Time spreads out, space is transformed. It’s an experiment: the thought and action of all the participants is called for, which means yours too.

Participation is open to everyone and is absolutely free.

We can accommodate a maximum of 12 persons, so we’ll be selecting from those interested… But we can hook up remotely with many others!
The date is 26^th April at the Angelo Mai, open to the public in the evenings on 27-28-29^th April.

Please post your video no later than 20^th April. On the 22^nd we’ll contact the invited participants, supplying more detailed logistic information.

MucchioMisto is part of the new Motus project “Making the plot 2011 > 2068” which will see the debut of “political animal” in May 2013.
We are seeking performers to involve in the future show, and we prefer to do this by living together in one of the few places where “the unexpected is indispensable”.
